Long story short - I got a warranty replacement TV for my last one that broke down 4 years and 11 months into the warranty (second time in 10 years!) and have a brand new TV as a replacement. This is great apart from the 90 day warranty that is only being supplied with it.
I asked Sony if they could sell me a warranty for this brand new TV but they declined, only to read the T&Cs to me, chapter and verse. I get all that, so don't need any advice on the terms.
I am not after a freebie, I want to purchase a warranty from somewhere as Sony will not sell me one.
Anybody ever had a similar situation? Having real trouble finding a company that can do a repair warranty for me...
The TV is a 65A90J OLED.
Hi @adaharri0 I have no idea if they will sell you breakdown insurance, but it is worth a try.
Television Insurance | Fast Repairs or Replacement (smart-sure.com)
Please let us know how you get on, it may help other people,
Thanks for your reply @LightFoot, sadly their level of cover is only up to £500 per claim, I don't think that is going to be high enough sadly 😥
Try these people:-
https://www.domesticandgeneral.com/products/tv-audio
They specialise in household product insurance, and you can get a quote right off that page.
Oops, duplicate deleted.
Thanks for the reply, unfortunately D&G will not cover the TV as it comes up as £3K on their database, so they will not touch it, no matter how much I protested. Hopeless.
Still looking to buy a repair/breakdown cover and it is unreal how difficult this is!
Google finds:-
Give them a try.
Only brings up a single supplier and that is Domestic & General, who will not cover the value.
Thanks for trying though
