Hi, having taken delivery of this model today I am having no luck at working out how to disable Youview. No matter where I look I cannot see an option to switch it off. If someone could point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.
My other question is regarding the TV screen, as it appears that it is fitted with a screen protector. I was hoping this was the case, and that it could be removed, as there is a half-inch scratch on the screen. However, there is a sticker that warns against removing this protector, so I'm assuming then it should be there? In which case it's a bit annoying as the scratch will have to stay as well.

Below is the path to disable YouView on my Sony TV XR42A90K, as yours is a different model
it may have a different path but hopefully it is similar enough for you to get the desired result.
Press the Settings button on the Remote Control.
Click on Channels & Input.
Click the right arrow on the remote to enter the submenu and click TV button shortcut.
Select Digital TV.
This will open a new screen where you can select Live TV & Catch Up (YouView) or TV.
Selecting TV will disable YouView.
Don't know about the screen protector my TV didn't come with one, perhaps the bigger screens do.
Are you sure the screen protector isn't meant only for unboxing and should be removed after the TV
has been placed in its viewing position. If it is meant to stay on the TV and has a scratch that will
detract from your viewing experience I would suggest contacting the reseller and see if the protector
can be replaced, or perhaps the TV itself.

Hi @MrBealzebub Sony TVs do not come with a screen protector. Why would they, they are not touch screens! Perhaps upload a picture, so we can all see this sticker.
Thanks for the quick replies. I've attached a photo of the sticker that appears to say don't remove whatever it is that's on the screen (unless I've interpreting incorrectly), but if you look beneath the bezel there is clearly the edge of something like a screen protector. Update: have just found this:https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/articles/00269550 which, when looking at the applicable products includes my TV model, so it seems there is something covering the screen, otherwise I'm unsure why they would have this article.
Hi @MrBealzebub
All very strange, my TV is in that list (A95K) and I didn’t have that sticker. Is it possible to remove the sticker only without disturbing the screen? Obviously you cannot watch the TV with it in place. You may have to seek help from your Retailer.
All got a bit stranger regarding the screen. I contacted the dealership who delivered it - it's a warranty replacement - and they'd never heard of the sticker too and asked for a photo. They then got a technician to take a look at the photo before instructing me to try and remove the "protector", as they suspected this would resolve the scratch on the screen, and if it went wrong they would take responsibility.
However, after trying 3 of the corners it was clear whatever it is will not come off, so as a result they are now sending a technician out to look at the TV and work out what's going on.
