Im having a problem with my DSC H300. I take a picture and connect it to my computer to download it to my computer, but it keeps saying "please turn camera off and then on" and when I turn the camera off, it wont turn back on again. I have changed the batteries twice.
Hi there,
Have you tried a factory reset?
Best wishes,
M
Sony not only presents the latest series DSLR camera, but also the latest series of prosumer cameras like Sony DSC H300. Where for this series Sony offers a variety of features and specifications in the sense enough to you that are new to know prosumer camera. Sony’s prosumer camera has a 20MP resolution by using a BIONZ processor. Indeed, the average for either Sony prosumer cameras, mirrorless or DSLR uses BIONZ processor, which is quite famous for its ability to satisfy. Other side Sony DSC H300 features the zoom to 35x zoom, quite effective enough to take pictures distant objects. As for the part of its autofocus support some features such as multi-area, center, tracking and face detection. In section 3 inch sized screen with 460,000 dots display and uses the type of LCD type screen. For minimum shutter speed is 30 sec and a maximum of 1/1500 sec.
According to several user riews, the have praised Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H300 for the strong image stabilization to back up its 50x zoom lens; excellent picture quality for its class; and a large assortment of shooting options for all levels of photographers. Also, some users have complained it for the HX300’s 20-megapixel sensor doesn’t translate into better picture quality. It doesn’t have a hot shoe, GPS, or Wi-Fi built in. Captures JPEG only, no raw.

Hi,
I would kindly recommend to try to isolate the problem, i.e. try to connect to another computer (does it give the same behaviour ?), try to use another USB cable, try to use the original USB cable provided with the camera...?
It could be related to a problem of power voltage in the USB port, to a bad cable, to a problem in the camera...
If you have a desktop computer, try also to use the USB ports on the rear of the computer, because front USB ports may also have other characteristics (USB hub). If you use a laptop, try to take the USB ports that are always powered (see the manual of your computer). If you use a USB hub, try to remove it and to connect directly to the computer.
In my opinion the batteries should not impact the problem because USB has its own power source, on the contrary, when you connect the camera powered off to the computer, the ON/OFF LED of the camera should turn to orange because it is then recharged by the computer. If this does not happen, you may indeed have a problem either in your USB port, or in your USB cable, or in your camera.
Finally, another possibility is just to take the memory card out of the camera and put it either in a SDHC port of your computer or use a memory card reader. If that does not work, you may have a problem with your memory card.
Hope this helps.

Hi,
The zoom and image stabilization capabilities of the SONY DSC-H and DSC-HX models are indeed a strong feature of those cameras...at least when they are working .
Those camera's indeed suffer from a very well know recurring problem and the symptoms are always the same : shortly after expiration of the warranty, the stabilization suddenly fails and displays an error message E:62:10.
All pictures are then suddenly blurred, which makes the device nearly unusable, and repair costs advertised by vendors seem to be at the same level as the cost of a new camera
Thousands of users on the Internet have the same problem, more than 400 forums are documented on http://sony-e-62-10.atspace.cc where thousands of desperate users all complain for the same hidden defect.
Just search E:62:10 on Google or on Google Videos or on YouTube and you will quickly understand.
I am in contact with SONY support services for this problem, unfortunately till now they refuse to answer .
Of course, till the moment SONY recognizes the problem and proposes a suitable solution, we cannot recommend to buy those camera's.
