I've recently bought the RX10 IV and have noticed that when the camera is switched off, there is movement (albeit only small) at the front of the lens, ie as I fix the lens cover the lens moves ever so slightly in. That's disconcerting as I thought it should be locked in place with no movement at all. When switched on, and the lens extends, there is no movement.
Is it just my camera that does that? I'd welcome other users views before I take it back to the shop!
Thanks
James
Hello @Bowood1,
I would assume that this is because when the lens is extended the camera is powered up and there are mutliple motors engaged while when you put the lens cap on there is no motor engaged which creates resistance.

Belated thanks Nic for your answer. I subsequently went along to a local camera shop and had a look at their RX10 IV and it was the same as mine so have put it down to the design!
