Hi,
I wonder if some knowledgeable person might be able to give me some advice please.
I am trying to connect a BDP-S1100 blu ray player to a Bravia KDL-60W855B via an HDMI cable.
I have had the S1100 working via HDMI on a smaller Panasonic TV without a problem. I was given the Bravia (I know how lucky) and assumed as they are both Sony I wouldn’t have a problem connecting the two. However, the picture is very unstable, often disappearing/flashing and snowy, there is no sound and occasionally an ‘ Unsupported signal check your device output’ message appears on the screen (even though the DVD/BD is playing)
I am using a quality HDMI cable and have checked all connections.
Does anyone in the Sony community have any suggestions as to how I overcome this problem?
thanks in advance for any help
All the best
Rob

Hi @chieflx, this could happen due to multiple factors but in this case it sounds like an issue with the HDMI cable itself so i would suggest trying to connect via a different cable and test it on different ports to check.
As well, follow the steps on here to make sure that you're connecting it correctly:

Also make sure that the TV itself is on the latest software version:

Hi Griffin door,
Thank you for the reply and I apologise it has taken so long to respond. Your suggestion of trying a different cable has indeed solved the problem.
I assume it was because the tv is 4k and my original lead could not handle the signal, a hi-def 4k cable seems to have solved the problem.
Once again many thanks
