I had to cut off the supplied pre-moulded UK 3 pin plugs to extend the power cables.
I noticed that they had been fitted with 13 amp fuses by the factory.
For safety, plugs should be fitted with fuses just above the rated current of the appliance.
It is possible to get very low rated fuses, but the lowest commonly available fuse would be 3 amps.
I calculated that the current these speakers use is about 0.045 amps so the factory fitted fuses were over 280 times higher than needed.
If you own a pair for these speakers in the UK I would suggest checking the fuses and changing them for a lower rating.
Hey Roger_H, I don't think you should've done this! Extending the power cable isn't even a good idea, we had a fire at our house once because of that..
I understand where you are coming from. Work like this should only be done by someone competent at electrics.
Perhaps the fire may not have started if the device had been fitted with a suitable fuse.
