After some advice if possible.
Bought a HT-MT500 soundbar. Connected to an LG tv, LG43UH620V.
At the start it worked fine, sounds sync’d with tv etc. Am now having a few issues:
a. Soundbar no longer turns on automatically with tv
b. Takes an absolute age to turn on - message “Please Wait” keeps appearing for up to 5 minutes then soundbar turns itself off with message “Auto Standby” showing
c. If soundbar does finally turn itself on the sound does not match with tv
Appreciate any advice someone might be able to give.
Thanks
Hi,
Thanks @Win_88
The post above suggests an updated status message? I couldn't see anything about the issue here where the units become "bricked"... Am I missing something?
Hi dblanc42
I didn't say anything about a status message. If the unit doesn't have any power, repair is the only option to follow.

I’m another individual who’s suffered from recent HT-MT500 problems. Purchased in November 2018 with a set of complementary rear SRS ZR5 speakers in March 2019. No problems initially but one of the rear speakers kept regularly dropping its connection. Early March 2020 access to configuration / set-up menu failed (‘brown’ screen experienced) combined with some lip-sync problems with the Soundbar. A short time later device remained locked on BT mode with no sound being emitted from bar. Inspection by a recognised Sony repair centre confirmed replacement main PCB required but replacements can no longer be sourced. Left with 2x redundant rear speakers which cannot be connected to TV. Expensive overall outlay which the driving unit failed after 16-months (4-months out of warranty). Sony offering 50% of Soundbar. Not a happy bunny!
I Have exactly the same problem the first time it was fixed under warranty and then six months later the same problem again where on the screen it just says please wait indefinitely therefore I’m now left with a sound bar which is not fit for purpose
does anyone know what the name of the motherboard component is and if you can buy them from anywhere
