From an apps point of view, this TV had a very poor selection of apps for a "Smart TV".
Most of them very obscure and only a couple most would find useful.
It was not even possible to delete some and replace them with others.
Recently I pressed the Home key to find thay have all gone apart from BBC iPlayer.
I suspect this was as a result of a software update.
Hi Roger_H, try unplugging the TV from the mains and restarting your router, which apps are you missing?
The same has happened to my mums TV today. Checked internet connection all ok, completed a factory reset etc. Switched the TV off and router and turned everything back on again and still the same. Spoke to Sony and they said this TV had very few apps. As it’s my mums TV can anyone confirm if itv hub app existed on this TV? Many thanks
I think ITV hub may have been one of the few useful apps on this tv.
I don't know how Sony got away with calling this a smart TV with the original apps offered.
Now that there's even fewer they should be offering owners a refund.
The best solution to make the apps side of this otherwise good tv better is to buy an Amazon Fire stick lite for about £30 which will give you ITV hub, All 4, My5 and BBC iPlayer plus a host of other streaming services.
It also enables the paid for services like Netflix etc...
Sony has an article that lists most -if not all- apps. You only need to figure out the lineup year, this model is from 2016.
That said, this could just be an outdated software being unable to fetch the latest app versions, so make sure you have the latest version.
Hope this helps!

The automatic software update has not been working for unknown reasons so the software version was 8.13 or similar.
Had to download v8.229 via a PC to a USB stick and update that way.
(Why is auto update not working or manual update thru the TV/wifi?)
Still missing appss but not going to bother with it anymore as the only missing app I used was YouTube.
I have a spare Firestick which gets me all the apps I need and more.
If you have the latest version now, try the Refresh Internet Content option since it would be able to get the latest versions of all supported apps. (It doesn't reset your login information or accounts)
Ok. Tried this and still only have YouTube and photo frame mode.
This sounds like a blocked TV connection to me, try connecting to a mobile hotspot then do the refresh using that and see if the apps come back.
If they do, you might need to contact your ISP to check why the TV has been blocked.

Apps have returned now.
