This may seem a stupid question but I set up my KD-43X75WL tv with google, was this right or could I have set it up without?  Thanks Jules

If you only wanted to use the TV as a TV and watch live television broadcasts via a TV aerial or satellite then you need not set up with Google.

If you want to download apps and use the catchup TV services iPlayer, ITV X, All 4, My5 and other then yes you need to sign up with Google.
