Annoying buzzz sound while running on battery !

Hello
I own a Sony Vaio VGN-AR21M and when i have it running on battery and the brigthness below 9 an annoying buzzing sound starts. If i switch to 9 the sound stops but battery runs out of power a lot faster. Is there any way to make that sound stop ?

I too have noticed the same problem on my FZ21M
