The Sony Vaio laptop SVS1512X9EB I ordered a recovery disk. When trying to restore (recovery & maintanance) error message:
"BIOS setting was changed
This recovery media can not be Used for this BIOS setting. Exit VAIO Care (Rescue mode) and change the BIOS setting back to the default.
Error 603 "
How do I switch the BIOS? I suppose now booting from UEFI.

Hi adamcz001,
To enter the BIOS settings press the Assist key when the computer is fully shut down, then press F2 when the Vaio Care | Rescue Mode screen is displayed.

Hi iamcaps,
I have no experience of recovering a Windows 8 system but are you by any chance using a USB 3 supported flash drive? I understand that only USB 2 is supported for the recovery process on an external drive.
