Hi,
just wanted to know what you guys think:
should I download the drivers on Sony's website or on Nvidia's website for my graphics adapter?
thanks
ps: the driver available on Sony's website was supposedly released after the one that's available on Nvidia's website... (June 28 2012 / May 22 2012)
confusing...

The Nvidia drivers coupled with a modified INF will install successful and given that Sony rarely release updates (compared to Nvidia) many people resort to this method when having problems with the latest games. In your case this is not relevant as there is a recent update.
I doubt that the drivers released direct by Nvidia would damage the hardware but there is the possibility that they may not work as expected.

Hi asdasdasd,
The Nvidia drivers released directly will not install unless you use a modified INF file, so unless you want the hassle of this stick with the driver released by Sony.
The difference in release date is explained by the fact that Sony modify the drivers to suit their OEM GPU.

Oh didn't know about that, thanks for the info
Should I add that I just formatted and installed a fresh (identical to the one that was installed when I bought the VAIO though) version of Windows?
The driver downloaded directly from Sony's website was a self-extracting executable file containing a somewhat outdated Nvidia driver, that's why I asked, but I'll stick with Sony's version anyway.
Out of curiosity: What if the latest Nvidia drivers installed successfully? Would it have been unsafe for my hardware? I won't take any risk anyway, no huge improvement to expect I guess.
Thanks again!
