When I was using my XZ2 with android 9 I was happy, it worked smooth and reliably.

Now with Sony’s android 10 update it’s a piece of garbage. Thanks, Sony, for pushing this beta garbage out. Thanks for giving no solution or reassurance to this mess.

Long time Sony fanboy but with this failure I’m just done…

Edit2: possibly noticed something weird, i seem to have no lag issues when the battery is fully charged, maybe its not a ram management issue but a battery management issue..

The issue detailed:

The phone has been factory reset after the update finished in hope of fixing the lag issue, no it didn't help at all. It seems like a serious ram management issue, when no background applications run everything works well but when a heavier program or multiple programs are kept open it becomes really unresponsive and unreliable. Holding YouTube in picture-in-picture mode combined with Firefox is unusable for example after the update. Background programs/services like Samsung smartwatch also keeps restarting often which is once again most likely because of bad memory management. These are just the more extreme examples of multitasking but the lag is also noticeable when just browsing. Finger print unlock has also become very slow or unusable combined with a problem of the lock screen getting stuck for a few second like an overlay.
