Hi Everyone
I got a Tablet S (16GB WIFI) today and I am very pleased with it
I just have a question about charging it when I am abroad
Do sony have a world charger for it or is it possible to charge it up using the usb socket (I have a world usb charger that I use for charging my mobile and kindle when in north america or europe) or will that damage it
I would like to avoid having to bring a convertor with me if I can
Any help on charging it up abroad would be much appriciated
Thanks

Solved! Go to Solution.
You must use the Sony charger because the connection to the Tablet is unique.
However, you can replace the lead from the mains plug to the Sony charger with one of these for Europe: -

Or one of these for the USA: -

Hi jammarsh45 and welcome.
If you look at the supplied mains charger you will see it operates with an input voltage of 100 Volts to 240 Volts. This means it will work anywhere - all you need is a plug travel adapter or alternate input leads are available.
Thanks for taking the time out to reply to me I am very grateful
any idea where I can pick up the alternate input leads as I wanted to avoid carrying an adapter if I could
Is there official sony leads for use abroad as I am always a bit dubious of third party chargers if not can you reccomend any reliable third party vendors for input leads or a decent travel adapter as I dont want to do any damage to the tablet
Cheers

any general electrics shop in the country you visit, the bit between power socket and the bulky part of the adaptor connects to it with a very common shape plug.
+ at any airport you can buy more expensive power plug socket adaptors.
Thanks
I was sure that it was just the figure 8 part that would want replacing but as I am no electricity expert I just wanted to be sure I wouldn't do any damage.
Thanks everyone for your help
