Jerky HD video playback

Has anyone else noticed that HD playback seems a bit sluggish? What advice can you suggest to improve playback (eg 720p/1080p)

Also what is the best media player? Is there a VLC equivalent on Android?

I don't think VLC is available yet... I use MX Video Player and Mobo Player (from the Market) and I'm very satisfied

I too have the same problem. Tried both MX Video Player and Mobo Players in bpth hardware and software, I'm not impressed. Both stutter when playing mkv (h264, ac3) @ 5mbps 1920x1080.

Bit worrying.. can anyone from Sony provide an official statement on this - cos I have definate problems playing back HD video on this device (not rooted and using the latest official updates provided by Sony)

Seems I had some wmv files that don't work with hardware acceleration... HD doesn't work well with 'software acceleration'
