Compatible stereo headphones

Hi,

I'm using Sony MDR-ZX110 headphones with my Xperia XZ1. After some time phone started to have some issues when headphones were connected. I sent it to dealer for warranty repair and they declined since the issue is not present when oem headphones that were in the package are connected. They said my headphones were probably not compatible.

Headphones are 100% fine, tested also with brand new ones in shop.

I made a video of the error: https://youtu.be/oE4C8DYM-Cs

Please help me Slightly_smiling_Face

https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/headband-headphones/mdr-zx110-zx110a-zx110ap/specifications

there are two versions of those headphones

Standard
MDR-ZX110

and
Android
MDR-ZX110AP

The Android ones have a microphone it seems.
The headphones are a 6 year old model.   6 years ago there was a difference in 3.5mm plugs.
For example the wonderful in ear Sony M1H worked on older Xperias but phones from about 2013 needed to use M1Hc     ( The two standards are OMTP and CTIA )
You may find that is at issue?

Hi, I'm using standard MDR-ZX110, without mic, with 3.5mm stereo 3-pin connector (mic version has 4-pin 3.5mm connector). This is the ancient 3.5mm standard stereo plug that I used in walkmans, and was there long before smartphones.

The problem is that this same earphones worked for 8months. But my dealer is now saying that they are "not officially supported" on my phone and the phone is fine.

They wouldn't even test my phone with any 3-pin stereo headsets at all, because apparently there is no officially supported headphones that should work 100%. Basically the only wired headphones that are officially supported are those that came with the phone.
