firmware update 52.1.A.3.49 drains the battery of XZ2 Compact!

A few days ago I got the firmware update 52.1.A.3.49 on my XZ2 Compact. It severely drains the battery! Overnight it looses 35% of charge (from 100 to 65%). Even in Stamina modus it looses 23%. Please help! How can I downgrade?

No, downgrading is not possible.

However you can wait a while untill the system settles.

You can restart your device.

You can test how it is in safe mode.

You can check the support app on your device to find clues.

If you cannote find a way out, then come back and ask.

No, it didn't solve the problem. After latest update the battery is still drained way too fast.

I measured the battery percentage during 14 nights. The phone is not used during the night and no apps are running, I also tested the working of the stamina modus during some nights. Here are my measurements:

date~from~totimebegin %end %deltastamina%/hour

6-8-202021:4508:1510:3039039y3,71

13-8-202022:1007:1509:05935043y4,73
14-8-202022:2008:2510:051005644n4,36
15-8-202022:5007:2008:30915536n4,24
16-8-202022:0507:2009:15803842y4,54
17-8-202022:3007:3509:051006238n4,18
20-8-202022:1507:3009:15934449y5,30
22-8-202022:2007:4009:201006238y4,07
23-8-202022:0006:3008:301006337n4,35

In average the battery looses 4,25 percentage points per hour during the night. So if the battery is 40% in the evening next morning it is empty. This is unacceptable!

Other conclusion: Stamina modus doesn't do anything!

Please do something and improve the firmware.

Have you tried a software repair or factory reset?

No, I didn't do a factory reset because it takes a lot of effort to restore the accounts in all the apps.

No, I didn't know about the existence of Android software repair tools. Which app does Sony recommand for this problem? Is there an app that investigates the (battery) usage of each of the installed apps and other processes?

Try the support app that's on your phone, or Xperia companion on pc.

Software repair is nearly a factory reset too tho.

In the settings: Battery, battery usage: "battery usage data not available" On other android devices this shows the battery usage per app.

I installed AccuBattery. Maybe that can find a clue.

Yo Dre, check this out, there's an article of the software repair step, give it a shot after the factory reset if the battery kept draining.

Yes, I performed the 'software repair' using Xperia Companion. (Reinstalled apps using the Google backup but still it took me a working day to setup all the apps again. Lost Whatsapp messages from January till now.)

It didn't help at all!! Still loosing about 3,8 %points per hour.
