Hi @Jlame, let me see if i can help out here!

In order to set a specific tone for incoming messages on your XZ3, Find and open the Messages -app >  Tap the menu icon (three vertical dots) > Settings > Notifications > Advanced > Sound. In this menu you should be able to pick a specific sound for messages without affecting other notifications.

Hello Martin first of all thank you for your solution but it does not work on my Sony xz3 it turns out that after the advanced settings I have a check box for special message notifications where the box Additional settings of the application so I cannot put a specific ringtone for my messages I wish you an excellent continuation Jonathan

In that case, try going to Settings > Apps & notifications > Show all apps > Messages > Notifications > Other notifications > Advanced > Sound. In this menu you should be able to set a specific sound for incoming messages.
