Quick charge 3.0 and Power Delivery for Sony Xperia XZ2 compact H8324 Europe

Hi there

Are these 2 protocoles supported by this model as I plan to buy a powerbank for à long trip out of nowhere? 

I chatted with Sony support yesterday and he claimed that wasn t the case although it is clearly stated in the specs on the official site so i m confused.

I don t want to buy a powerbank and literally burn my Phone cause i don t know if he can handle the input power. 

My current official sony charger is a non QC and delivers only 5V X 1.5A = 7.5W in output and i m planning on buying an 26800mAh PD with 45W max Output !!! so u can understand my scepticism.

I dont know the max Input power admissible by the USBC, can t find this data.

What do u think ?

Hi @Scoubidoubiboy, welcome to our forum!

The Xperia XZ2 Compact supports both USB Power Delivery and Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0.

The device will generally halt and not use more power than it can handle, especially these days with all the battery improvement functions added, so you should not have to worry about anything.

Our own PD charger has an output of 18W, but the powerbank can probably be used to charge laptops and so on that can handle a higher output.

So I guess this is it, I made my choice:

Anker 26800mAh Powercore+ Power Delivery Usb-c 45W In and Out + 60W Power Delivery Usb-c charger. Should work as à charm
