Hello everyone!

We tried out a new concept where we mainly let our community assist each other with product/feature questions in the Xperia XZ Premium board and it was a success! So, let's keep it rolling.

The purpose of this thread is to ask anything that you wish to know about the Xperia XZ1; other users owning an Xperia XZ1 and forum staff will do our best to reply! 

As an example, prior to purchasing an Xperia XZ1, you may be wondering if someone has tried out a specific third party app or feature on their XZ1, and could tell you a bit more about the compatibility and functionality as the app may important in your daily life. Staff and other users can come in and reply and let you know how it works!

The goal of this thread is to help each other out as a community. We will try to moderate this thread so that any new threads with a fitting question will instead be moved here, while we of course keep support threads the way they are now.

Hi!

I`ve had my XZ1 since the release date here in Norway. I`m not satisfied.

Several times the alarm has not went off, or have not made sound. I overslept one time, the other times my wifes Huawei saved me. Smart lock is not so smart, it just disappears. Several times there has been a message on the screen saying that the alarm is ringing, there is no sound, and to get the message to disappear I have to restart the phone.

My main issue at the time, happens when I go to work. We have a network at my job that we can connect to automatically, but have to write username and password first. The problem is that the "Connect" button never gets highlighted, so I can`t connect- EVER! It`s so annoying, I have helped several of my colleagues to connect their Samsungs and their Iphones. But not me. Not my XZ1.

Any suggestions?

I think u have enabled silence mode..  I had the same problem but I disabled it somewhere in the settings

And I've never had problem with wifi

I dont want application commercials to my lockup screen. What I should do?

In app settings if available Untick "push notifications", "notifications" if game/app has such options.

Some Apps adverts can't be disabled, and if no rights to notifications are accepted some won't even install, so check inside the App that's spamming your screen.

Does anyone know if XZ1 camera and laser focus glass is Gorilla 5?
Curious cause as I compared with older Xperias I see there is no more violet tint in sunlight, UV coating is not installed this time, is it related that gorilla can't be... coated?

Camera is gorilla glass yes but laser focus is plastic

My Xperia Loops dynamic theme doesn't work right anyone observed that?
In preview circles are fine and react on touch as expected, after setting the loops as theme, the circles go "under" the screen, so all the screen is black and only tops of circles are visible under navigation icons... far from what I saw on YT tests where circles should launch near power button and go to the screen centre around the clock/weather widget.
Can this be fixed over on coming updates please?

The Xperia XZ1 has a FHD advertised display but most apps which provide the specifications for your device show that the resolution is 1784x1080.

Also I'm experiencing black horizontal lines on the display and screen tearing in high graphic demanding games

Is it true that XZ1 Supports 120hz Refresh Rate just like Razer Phone?

How to active that and is there any bad effect or maybe its a good effect?

Im from Indonesia, unfortunately Sony Mobile has been out from my country 

I bought this phone when I was traveling at Singapore

I move from XZ to XZ1 because this series is the last Xperia flagship puts a 3,5mm jack to their phone, XZ2 series dont have 3,5mm jack

So this is my issue

The problem occured since I played game LineageII Revolution with highest setting (i think SD835 can handle that) and made my phone getting hotter before I charged it, and I after I charged it when I was sleeping and next morning I checked my phone, it behaves differently, the battery drops every couple minutes even though i dont use it (idle position) and its getting warm as well

I did Factory reset twice already, Software repair through Xperia Companion, but its not working, the problem still happens

I did Safe Mode several times, and still same

Change the setting tp reduce the battery consumption, but its like useless

I did a calibration battery, make it 0% and then charged it to 100% off position

I check the temperature, sometimes it reaches more than 50°Celcius when I play a game with it

Last time, 1st and 2nd week after I bought this phone, it can get more than 4-5 hours SOT even with  playing games

But now its only 3-3,5 hours

And the battery drops easily even in idle position

So my conclusion is, my battery is broken or maybe SD835, cause the heat last time

But is it that fragile hardware from Sony? I mean I use Xperia before since Sony Erricson, but i only get this problem now

I already contacted Sony through email yesterday and told my problem, hope they would give me a good solution, but they didnt 

I hope you all guys keep giving me a solution as well, and i will try it
