I am trying to install a "Smart Plug" that requires the phone to be connected to my WiFi at 2.4G in order to be configured. The setup for every other plug I have used does not care how the phone is connected, but this one apparently does. My mesh WiFi provides both 2.4G and 5G WiFi with the same name (SSID) and password. I had the WiFi stop broadcasting the SSID on 5G, had the phone "Forget" my WiFi, and then connected it again. It connected at 2.4G, but within a few seconds the phone switched to the 5G connection.
Is there a method to make my phone (temporarily) use only 2.4G for WiFi so I can complete this setup?
