Hello
I have a problem I didn’t find any solution on the internet. When I click a web link in the email app, a small windows opens with the browser content. Is there a possibility to disable this function and instead open the standard browser? Thanks for your help.
Kind regards
Beat
THanks a lot for the solution. I also had this issue but had not been solved. Finally I have solved it with your solution and can take a deep sleep.
I have exactly that same problem. All the links can not be opened in a browser. Instead a small "browser like" window opens and not in full screen mode , and previews the page...
i tried reinstallong Gmail, Chrome. Also tried resetting the dafaults. Nothing helps. Still can not transition from Gmail or Google surch to a browser(any browser). And a have a new XZ1 with all the new updates.
I am not sure if this is the same problem, but when I open my gmail, it opens a small browser. You can go into the Gmail settings and disable this feature. It is set to open a Gmail browser to aid in speed, but if you disable it, it will open your default browser.
For others, be aware that a translation in your language may come up

I had the same problem when following an email link. I fixed it by factory resetting my L1.
Go on settings, search "default" .
Go to default apps and click on opening links.
Scroll down to 'Setup Wizard' and enter. There should be a little exclamation mark, click on it. Now disable that wizard browser app but make sure your preferable default browser has javascript enabled though. Your apps that require Java should work properly now.
Wow this is BS, Sony.
Indeed you have to disable this setup wizard . And only then will you also see the Gmail option to open web links in Gmail . Re enabling setup wizard hides the Gmail open web links option .
But with setup wizard disabled, opening link in Gmail using Gmail actually works instead of that mini limited window that has no JavaScript .
This is on a new XZ2 compact.
Thanks! Been struggling with this since I bought my xperia 2 years ago haha. Finally a solution.
