Video Driver

Hello!

I have a Sony Vaio VGN-FE31H and I have recently re-formatted and re-installed my notebook with Windows XP. However, as part of the installation process, I've had to re-install my drivers. I've downloaded all the drivers from the vaio-link website for my notebook model but the video drivers are not working.

I understand that it's a pretty ancient notebook and is probably not supported that much but I find this pretty poor of Sony that they only provide half a driver file with no setup.exe to install the video driver with!

It's a NVIDIA GeForce Go 7400 video controller and desparately need the driver as Windows XP has used a standard VGA driver that is pretty awful to see with. I would appreciate if anyone has any suggestions where I can get the driver from or even just to download the standard driver for this model. I've already tried NVIDIA's site and must have downloaded several drivers but none are supported for my notebook. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi sussex_8 and welcome.

It is usual for video drivers to need installation from Device Manager.

Go to Device Manager and expand Display Adapters. Double click on your nVidia device and choose the Driver Tab. Click on 'Update Driver' -> No, not this time -> Install from a specific location (Advanced) -> Don't search, I will choose a location -> Have Disc -> Browse to the location of the nvidia driver .INF file.
