Hello everyone!

We tried out a new concept where we mainly let our community assist each other with product/feature questions in the Xperia XZ Premium board and it was a success! So, let's keep it rolling.

The purpose of this thread is to ask anything that you wish to know about the Xperia XZ1; other users owning an Xperia XZ1 and forum staff will do our best to reply! 

As an example, prior to purchasing an Xperia XZ1, you may be wondering if someone has tried out a specific third party app or feature on their XZ1, and could tell you a bit more about the compatibility and functionality as the app may important in your daily life. Staff and other users can come in and reply and let you know how it works!

The goal of this thread is to help each other out as a community. We will try to moderate this thread so that any new threads with a fitting question will instead be moved here, while we of course keep support threads the way they are now.

@ezy that's interesting, account sync is usually turned on by default. good to hear that you got it sorted out, though.

it's settled down now...   i've manually reloaded (or the phone / google remembered a lot of things i had to confirm on firing up.... and of course a few apps needed to have permissions accepted to then work)...   and the sd folder message did go after i swished it away (it never came back on a reboot)

my smartwatch2 has connected but i can't see it's actually working to any of the apps yet. 

music found all my mp3s (which were added to an sd card long ago)

my old mdr-nc750 ear phones were recognised perfectly

tv streaming to my tivo etc all great. 

only issues now seem to be... no "album" widget (and no alternative) ?

no double tap screen off (useful as my thumb unlocks the phone so i never trust locking the screen with it)

@ezyunfortunately, Album widget has been removed in some Album app update some time ago. and there's no double tap to sleep option (or double tap to wake, for that matter), but I don't think you should be worried about locking the screen with your thumb, even if you use your thumb's fingerprint to unlock the phone. I'm doing the same and the phone always request authentication when turning the screen on again

   i often found the z5 "awake" as i put it in my jeans pocket until i used double tap to turn it off  

likewise i had to turn the double press onswitch to take a photo off for the same "problem" 

i found the smartwatch2 issue...  i had to reset the watch, as it had already been nfc linked it immediately rebooted to a connected working link with the apps lighting up as connected again.

weirdly my gold phone that looked still brand new yesterday looks a bit old today next to the silver one!

hopefully no more issues today... someone elses turn to have a niggle

Could someone please enter the service test menu (*#*#7378423#*#*) and tell me if there is the "pressure sensor", aka barometer?

yes, there is a pressure sensor test...    and it says 1020.42 milibar when i run it

I'd like to add that two days I've asked the very same question to my country's support via chat, but I've been replied that they hadn't such information yet, and that I would have been recontacted.

I would argue that pre-selling personnel should be feed with white papers well in advance than general availability.

Since you are very kind I have another favour to ask.

Would you please connect some in-ear headphone, lower the volume to the lowest level and tell me if, listening to music or podcast in a quiet environment, you hear some cracking or static? Without any dsee or clear audio activated.

Problem was even more evident watching movies with VLC  or internet radio or using YouTube.

Mine Z5c had this defect and I hope that the next one will not show it.

cant do that as i have no podcasts to listen too.

however...   i felt the default settings the xz1 was quieter than the z5... but that could be because over 2 years i have turned on different settings etc...  (the same hi-res sony earphones used) 

i also felt the xz1 was "darker" than the z5... i seem to have the screen set brighter than the z5 was.. of course i have switched the gold theme & whatever theme i had to a platinium theme and a silver wallpaper.. so again, it's hard to compare like for like.
