Hello everyone!

We tried out a new concept where we mainly let our community assist each other with product/feature questions in the Xperia XZ Premium board and it was a success! So, let's keep it rolling. 

The purpose of this thread is to ask anything that you wish to know about the Xperia XZ1 Compact; other users owning an Xperia XZ1 Compact and forum staff will do our best to reply! 

As an example, prior to purchasing an Xperia XZ1 Compact, you may be wondering if someone has tried out a specific third party app or feature on their XZ1 Compact, and could tell you a bit more about the compatibility and functionality as the app may important in your daily life. Staff and other users can come in and reply and let you know how it works!

The goal of this thread is to help each other out as a community. We will try to moderate this thread so that any new threads with a fitting question will instead be moved here, while we of course keep support threads the way they are now.

I am expecting courier with my new XZ1 compact any moment now. I want to ask, if anyone has problem with A2DP on android 8? My wife has XZ compact and she has problem with bluetooth headset to play media files. I had previously the same problem with Nokia 8. I googled, and found out many people with many types of phones have this issue after Android 8 update(to clarify- bluetooth works well for phone calls, but media play through phone speaker). SO MY QUESTION - WHEN MY PHONE ARRIVES AND WILL PROBABLY HAVE ANDOID 7, SHOULD I UPDATE TO ANDROID 8 WITHOUT FEAR OF LOOSING ABILITY TO PLAY MEDIA USING BLUETOOTH?

Hi @Pastikaren;

The XZ1 Compact was released with Android Oreo 8.0, so your phone should arrive with Android 8.0 already installed.

Let me tell you also that I have a XZ Premium with Andriod 8.0 and have no problems playing media over Bluetooth, I supose it's a question of compatibility between devices.

It's not uncommon to have to switch Bluetooth to avrcp 1.4 if device frequently disconnects. Hopefully you'll be fine but if it isn't:

1. If paired then unpair both devices from each other.
2. Go to Settings -> System -> About phone -> tap multiple times on "Build number" until you enable "Developer options"
3. Go back to Settings -> System -> Developer options -> Networking -> Bluetooth AVRCP Version -> Choose AVRCP  1.4 or 1.5
   
4. Restart your phone
5. Pair devices and test.

Install another keyboard then go to settings>system>language and typing>virtual keyboard>manage keyboards>disable SwiftKey keyboard.

Mine the same. So disappointed with camera .If camera 2 api was enabled I could use the Google camera ported.

Hi,

I am trying to find a fix for receiving call screen/notification: I can't see full screen incoming call, except for the small notification that I have to touch on the image to make it full screen.

For each incoming call, lock and unlock mode, I have to search for the small notification in order to be able to answer... Normal is incoming call to be full screen so I can answer. 

It happens the same in lock and unlock mode and it's frustrating to search for the small notification for each incoming call. This is after all a Phone.

I have tried also with 3rd party phone apps, but still only small notification and no full screen incoming call.

It's frustrating because in order to answer a call I have to:

- search for the notification;

- push on the small image;

- finally, swipe to answer.

Of course, there is also smart call handling, but this is not a solution.
